Excellent atmosphere, large separate bar and nice dining area. This is a beautiful restaurant interior wise and I found the servers and service to be friendly and attentive. Now on to the food.
We were very surprised at how empty it was on a Saturday night however after dining it may have given us the clue.
The food does not match either the service or funky surroundings, bland and somewhat overpriced. We both ordered chicken dishes, $17 & $19, the barbecued breast is just sauce brushed on a breast, comes with coleslaw and beans. The 2nd dish was $19, breast with a bit of veg plus goat cheese on top, plus beans, it was just OK, the fries are like Mcdonalds - not good.
So suffice to say, beautiful restaurant, but the food is boring and inconsistent with the prices being charged. |

Was expecting a nice French restaurant, what I got was a extremely loud pub type venue with extraordinary prices and sub par food.
Couple that with sitting at the back of the restaurant in what felt like a storage room, 30 minute wait for drinks, Beer Chicken @ $24 that did not include any ingredients listed on the menu, other than 2 small drumsticks, $28 6 oz steak that was "chewy" and unremarkable. Small portions badly prepared.
Pretentious overpriced food and service that is lacking. Go someplace else. |

Stage West Theatre

| I have gone to Stage West for many years, & have enjoyed it very much. The plays are fantastic, I have never seen a bad one. I must say the food has gone down hill at a fast pace over the years, it is not good at all. I have no want to ever go back..... I will give the plays 5 stars & the food 1. |

Only a short drive from Calgary, this was a perfect Sunday getaway for lunch, we were welcomed by a lovely rustic style restaurant nestled between tall evergreens with a large outdoor patio.
Advertised as upscale authentic Italian food, we eagerly ordered a light lunch starting with the Bruschetta along with a 8" Margherita pizza to follow, which was described as Italian Roma tomatoes with basil.
When our order arrived we were shocked to find our Bruschetta was non other than 1 hotdog styled bun cut in half, then quartered and topped off with the bruschetta, the bun was soggy and at $11.00 was beyond disappointing, it was insulting. The 8" pizza each quarter receiving one slice of what was clearly not a Roma tomato, again at $16.00 you just simply expect the ingredients to match the prices.
The staff was pleasant and the setting was lovely, the food is priced sadly for the location, too expensive and ordinary at best. |

Stores are big and it is difficult to find specific items. They sometime have greeters to direct you but not all the time.
Staff is very difficult to find and not attentive or knowledgeable if you do find one.
Prices are competitive but poor staff and large stores mean only going there as a last resort or if they are the only store that has a particular product on sale. |

Brand new location in the lovely Quarry Park district in the SE, nice atmosphere and for the sports fan you can enjoy the numerous big screens.
Mixed review on this one actually, service is relatively fast and friendly but the food is your basic pub grub, coupled with music that requires you to shout across the table to be heard, however this is a pub so I suppose it's to be expected or maybe the over 50 crowd like me, just does not get it.
Really like the location and service but the food is just OK ! |

Carvers Steakhouse - Sheraton Cavalier

This steakhouse is located inside the Sheraton Cavalier in the NE. The ambiance is really quite nice, the service we got from our waiter was five star for sure.
We paid a hefty $37 for a steak that came accompanied with 2 tablespoons of garlic mash. The salad starters were unique in presentation, but very ordinary in taste, could not finish mine due to the over dressing causing it to be soggy. Peppercorn sauce for the steak cost an additional $7.00, yikes!
The other meals of Sea Bass were not so much fish as they were vegetables and something that resembled packaged wild rice. The fish was tasteless. Again at $33 you just kinda expect a bit of an experience.
At the end of the meal we all concluded that we probably would not return, service was great, the quality of food just does not match the prices. |

While the prices are quite reasonable I have to say that supper here is in the "had better" category.
The atmosphere is fun and the servers are cheerful. Keeping it simple I ordered a chipotle chicken sandwich with the usual lettuce salad @ $11.99,. The breaded chicken was soaked and soggy in hot sauce, on a bun with lettuce/tomato, served with side salad. My husbands choice was cold and uninspiring too.
This is definitely a family restaurant with oodles of children and birthday celebrations, so a bit noisy and unfortunately for us the food is just not there for a second visit. |

| Swiss Chalet has a surprise for you.. if you want Chicken at their place, its gonna cost ya about $2 more for "white meat"..say what !!.frankly the last time I cooked a chicken there was not enough dark meat to make a sandwich so this cute little UPsell from this company is tacky at best and one that tells me NO THANKS. I felt like everything was extra here at this fast food venue, but seriously almost $10 for fries and a bun with a wee bit of chicken, things have changed and not for the better.!! |
