Everything was delicious and there's no other restaurant on Macleod Trail or anywhere else in Calgary where that level of food is so affordable! Friendly staff and the kind of atmosphere where you know its nicer than regular but not stuffed up - jeans not jean shorts. Absolutely going back!!
Our group consisted of 8 people, we all liked the ambiance and the service was quite nice and friendly but generally run off his feet....The menu is interesting because they have salmon, curry, steak and swordfish...and then the asian lineup of wor won ton, noodle bowls etc etc.....
Unfortunately the food was a major letdown...forgettable. I ordered a noodle dish that was so dry the noodles all stuck together and had to be pried apart...2 others ordered Chicken Kung Pao..both thought they had received the wrong item due to it not looking like or tasting like any Kung Pao they had ever had...it was actually like ginger beef. Again tasteless and impossible to get through..had them looking for the salt/pepper shaker.. I guess the soup order and salmon was nice..
Dessert was also hit and miss, how can you bugger up a brownie...ours disintegrated into powder luckily it had sauce which helped it along..
For the price seriously you need to shop around, unless you just like to sit in a dimly lit eatery waiting to pay for overpriced and underwhelming food...too bad really...
Having heard so much about this place we could not wait to try it. So special occasion and out of town guests made it a perfect fit. Arrived at 12:30 for Brunch, nice atmosphere, interesting and varied menu with all things breakfast and brunch. We ordered the Cora's Special at $11.99 each and waited in sweet anticipation, but we waited and waited and well, waited. 1 hour later we asked our mostly absent waitress if our meal was coming, she shrugged it off and said she would check.
Miraculously it appears about 90 seconds later...we were sooooo hungry everyone dived right in and almost simultaneously said...mmm, is this cold. Tepid warm rubbery eggs, cold hashbrowns, a slice of 100% tasteless ham atop what was supposed to a crepe but after trying to cut it we concluded it was someones lost shoe sole. The lone person at our table who ordered a mega size crepe filled with fruit found it doughy and hard to cut on the bottom
..Paying $12 plus waiting 1 hour we nevertheless ate it, but the comments around the table were..its not possibly we all got bad meals...but we did.
Like all great businesses when they start out their popularity has bread mediocrity coupled with high prices and "oh well" attitudes. We wont be back...
Excellent atmosphere, large separate bar and nice dining area. This is a beautiful restaurant interior wise and I found the servers and service to be friendly and attentive. Now on to the food.
We were very surprised at how empty it was on a Saturday night however after dining it may have given us the clue.
The food does not match either the service or funky surroundings, bland and somewhat overpriced. We both ordered chicken dishes, $17 & $19, the barbecued breast is just sauce brushed on a breast, comes with coleslaw and beans. The 2nd dish was $19, breast with a bit of veg plus goat cheese on top, plus beans, it was just OK, the fries are like Mcdonalds - not good.
So suffice to say, beautiful restaurant, but the food is boring and inconsistent with the prices being charged.
After problems with my 4 year old honda civic ignition and being charged $150 at the dealership for a New Key... which by the way would not work even at the dealership...I was told that I needed a new ignition costing about $700, that's on top of the key charge..
As a last resort and out of frustration I called Dominic at Amazing Locksmith who advertised that he specialized in auto locks/keys/ignitions etc and he was addement he could fix my problem.....no question !
He arrived promptly the same day, took out the old ignition, showed me the problem and had it fixed within the hour...his truck is a office/shop on wheels and yeh it still cost $360 but basically half the price Honda wanted to charge.
This young guy really knows his stuff about most vehicle's and especially Honda, had no troubles since....5 stars for sure...Awesome service !
Great location next to movie theatre's with plenty of parking. Our group of 5 all ordered different items, the chicken wings were awesome, special of the day was steak sandwich and was cooked to perfection.
The ball park hot dog and shepards pie were equally raved about. Service was friendly and fun and at the end of our meal we decided this spot was a keeper for both quality of food, price and great service..
We have purchased 2 homes with this agent and cannot say enough nice things about him.
He has needed the patience of a saint to deal with us and our many changes of heart, however his good nature and patience never failed. He is professional and his many years of experience helped us make the right decision each time.
One thing we really appreciated was his honesty. Buying or selling, Jim is definitely who we like to call !
After driving an Audi, Benz and Infiniti I would have to say that Lexus of Calgary is the cream of the crop for their superb customer service. Simply wonderful vehicles, we have owned the LX and the ES, both were great. They treat you and your vehicle like a VIP, long after purchase.
Certified herbalist Joann loves what she does and it shows in her products from herbal teas to face creams. I have tried the digestive teas and the distress skin cream and really like the quality, knowing it is certified organic is great. The fresh herbs and spices are awesome. 5 Star for sure!
